SAP R/3 Login Instructions
Connecting to R/3 via Authentic Login
SAP R/3 utilizes the Kerberos single sign-on authentication process. This authentication allows a user to acquire
authentication to the system once during a session. The users are then able to login to SAP R/3 multiple times
without having to authenticate again.
How to Authenticate
- Double-click the Authentic Login or Kerberos icon on your desktop.
- Enter your NET ID in the Name field.
- The NET ID password should be entered in the Password field. Remember that passwords are case-sensitive.
- In the Realm field, enter ACPUB.DUKE.EDU in ALL capital letters.
- Click the Login button to acquire your ticket. A green ticket will appear with a start time and an end time.
- Tickets expire after 10 hours. Make sure you Delete your ticket if you are going to leave your workstation.
- You can close (or minimize) the Authentic Login utility after acquiring your ticket.

Using SAPlogon
- To use a production system, you must first authenticate to SAP R/3 via the Authentic Login, as described above.
- After authenticating, double-click the SAPlogon shortcut on the desktop
- Select a production system (PRD) from the list of R/3 systems in the SAPlogon utility.
- Double-click on the name of the system for which you want to login
- SAP R/3 will launch a connection to the selected production system.
